hope grows between the cracks

that quote is from one of my favorite television shows "felicity" - i was just thinking about it & find it so true. but i was thinking that is not really our mission but the mission of the cross... to renew our hearts. cleanse them into the soft and hopeful things they were meant to be. free from sin and darkness and disappointment and even the everyday burdens that want to harden us. i think when our hearts get broken in any way we do start to see the cracks in everything.... but God draws near to the brokenhearted and can give you eyes to see the purpose of the cross in everything. his death has a purpose for everything. his death was to make all things new. we can see the cracks but oh i want eyes to see what the cross has done for all the brokenness. i want that vision cast in my heart of his restoration. now when i see the cracks i know its not for nothing but for the glory of God to be displayed. now i see the cracks but can see little flowers blooming between them ...
